Hello St. Louis!
I’m Annie Rice. You might recognize me from Tower Grove East, Shaw, and Southwest Garden events, 8th Ward Democratic Committee meetings, or fighting alongside my friends and neighbors for justice in our City. From protests in the streets to working towards better public policy, I am working to make St Louis more inclusive and equitable.
I’m an immigration attorney who proudly serves as board member for the Migrant and Immigrant Community Action (MICA) Project and as the Democratic Committeewoman for the 8th Ward of St. Louis and the 5th Senate District of Missouri. I earned a law degree while focusing on immigration, civil rights, and international human rights law, along with a Bachelor’s degree in Urban and Cross Cultural Ministry and a TESOL Certificate. I love our city of St. Louis and I am deeply committed to the strong, diverse community I’m part of in the 8th Ward.
I’m constantly inspired by the work that so many St. Louisans are doing to keep moving our city forward. We’ve made incredible progress in our city, and I’ve seen that firsthand in my own neighborhood, Shaw. But, many of our neighbors have not been able to share in that growth In some cases entire sections of the city haven’t been able to access the resources and opportunities they need and deserve. This needs to change, and I want to help build the necessary bridges to making that positive change.
The 8th ward is a vibrant, diverse community with wonderful people who have shown dedication to keep moving forward, to challenge the way things have always been done, and to look for creative solutions to our challenges. I want to represent this community with humility, by being present and accountable to all St. Louisans. I’ll work diligently to make good policy and forge strong relationships in the 8th Ward and with our neighbors.
Let’s work together to create a more inclusive and equitable community, not only in the 8th Ward, but throughout our city.
